Irvine Welsh's Crime | Preview (ITV1)

Crime is the highly acclaimed original crime thriller adapted from the best-selling novel by Irvine Welsh, which is currently available on ITVX.

Set in Edinburgh and directed by James Strong (Liar, Broadchurch, and the forthcoming BBC drama Vigil) and David Blair (Isolation Stories, The Barking Murders), the six-episode production stars Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible 2, Batwoman, The Woman in White) as Detective Inspector Ray Lennox, who is investigating the disappearance of a schoolgirl while battling his own personal demons.

The series will also star Joanna Vanderham (Warrior, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) as DS Amanda Drummond, Angela Griffin (Harlots, Dun Breedin’, White Lines) as Trudi Lowe, Ken Stott (The Dig, Fortitude, Devils) as Chief Superintendent Bob Toal and Jamie Sives (Guilt, Too Close) as Detective Inspector Dougie Gillman.

A second series has also been commissioned for ITVX, which will stream this Autumn. Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible 2, Twin Town, My Week with Marilyn) returns as troubled detective DI Ray Lennox. Scott’s portrayal of Lennox in season one of Crime recently landed him an International Emmy nomination for Best Performance by an Actor.

He leads a stellar line up of Scottish talent including Ken Stott (Rebus, The Missing) and Joanna Vanderham (Dancing on the Edge) who reprise their roles as Chief Superintendent Bob Toal and DS Amanda Drummond.

John Simm (Grace, Doctor Who) and Derek Riddell (Silent Witness) also return for the second season, which also sees Dougray Scott’s son Gabriel Scott (House of Dragon) appearing alongside his father.

Crime begins Saturday 1st July on ITV1. Available now on ITVX.
