Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland have announced that Mock the Week will be back on TLC with a 5-episode special summer series.

Following the successful return of the show on the new free-to-air TLC at the start of the year, the additional 5-episode run through June and July will give Mock the Week fans their fix of summer satire ahead of series 2, airing this autumn.

Produced by Angst, the 5x60 summer series, which starts on TLC at 9pm on Sunday 7 June, will see Dara Ó Briain return as host, joined by series regular Rhys James alongside a panel featuring some of the nation’s favourite comedians.

Watch as sport - via a World Cup stateside - politics and pop culture collide against the backdrop of a sizzling summer news agenda.

Host Dara Ó Briain and his unfaithful sidekick, series regular Rhys James, will guide viewers through the complex and turbulent global news cycle, with the help of an all-star rotating panel of comedy guest-stars that include Maisie Adam, Ed Gamble, Sara Pascoe, Chris Ramsey and Russell Howard. Also ready to take on the summer headlines are Hugh Dennis, Ed Byrne, Angela Barnes, Michelle Wolf, Milton Jones, Sarah Keyworth, Laura Lexx, Janine Harouni, Glenn Moore, Scott Bennett, Ahir Shah and Josh Pugh.

Mock the Week host, Dara Ó Briain, added: “The Prime Minister in trouble, the world running out of oil, and the most chaotic World Cup in history about to start? Well, that sounds like a week worth mocking. Of course we’re back!"

Mock The Week returns Sunday 7th June on TLC.
