CHANNEL 4 SCRIPTED HIGHLIGHTS FOR 2024, NEW AND RETURNING TITLES REVEALED

Channel 4 have revealed its scripted highlights for 2024, including new and returning dramas The Gathering and Suspect.

TRUELOVE

A unique spin on a cat and mouse thriller, centring on a gang of older friends who make a pact that, if and when the time comes, rather than let each other suffer a dreadful decline they will engineer a more dignified death as a sign of ‘Truelove’. But when an intrepid young police officer discovers that there is more to this group of retirees than meets the eye, events soon take a surprising and dangerous turn…

BIG BOYS

Series two takes the whole gang straight into the second year of Brent University 2014, where alongside dealing with virginity hang-ups, drug experimentation (both legal and otherwise) and Jack’s obsession with Alison Hammond, this time round their degrees actually count!

BIG MOOD

Best friends Maggie and Eddie, played by Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West, have lived in each other’s pockets for ten years, through thick, thin, and multiple challenging eyebrow trends. But with the rest of their lives looming, careers hanging in the balance, and Maggie’s bipolar disorder making an unwelcome return to form, Eddie begins to question whether this friendship is really in their best interests.

QUEENIE

Enter Queenie Jenkins, a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither.  A South London stalwart, journalist, loyal friend, not-so-loyal daughter and granddaughter, a sometimes catastrophist, an occasional mess, but more often than not an undervalued success – who is always, always enough.

SUSPECT

The second season picks up where the first left off, with Anne-Marie Duff (Bad Sisters, The Salisbury Poisonings) returning as Dr Susannah Newman, now on a desperate quest to track down a self-confessed serial killer before he kills again that night.

ALICE & JACK

A love story for the ages. When Alice (Andrea Riseborough) and Jack (Domhnall Gleeson) first meet they’re bound by a connection so powerful it seems nothing can break it, but will their path lead them to a place of happiness and togetherness? Or will life and their own emotional complexities get in the way? Honest, intimate, and surprisingly funny, the series shows love in all its unexpected, technicolour, kaleidoscopic beauty.

THE GATHERING

Centres around a violent attack on a teenage girl during a rave on a tidal islet. Set on Merseyside, the drama focuses on a group of teens from disparate backgrounds, each of whom could have committed the crime, along with their parents - who give equal cause for suspicion.

Broadcast details for each of the titles will be confirmed in due course.
