Random Rewind: Ant & Dec's Push The Button, ITV

Random Rewind: we look back at some the best, and occasionally worst, entertainment shows from the past decade.

Ant & Dec's Push The Button

2011, ITV

Push The Button was a primetime ITV gameshow created and hosted by Ant & Dec, first airing in early 2011, the show ran for two series and a total of 14 episodes.

The first series was pre-recorded with Ronnie Corbett as the show's announcer. The second series transmitted live with Matt Berry replacing Ronnie as announcer.

In each episode, two families competed for the chance to win £100,000. At the start of the episode, each family was given £100,000. The families would then go head-to-head in a series of challenges. As the rounds were being played, the amount of money in each family's balance would decrease.

Each round involved a giant button. This was used for different things in different games, such as starting or ending a timer.

Series 1 consisted of 6 episodes and launched with 7.25m viewers. It ended its run with 4.34m. The second series of 8 episodes began with 5.85m and ended with 3.92m.
