Miriam & Alan: Lost And Found In Scotland | Preview (Channel 4)
In this brand-new series, Hollywood actors Miriam Margolyes and Alan Cumming roll back the decades and return to their Scottish roots.

Part rediscovery, part revelation and always a total riot, we follow the duo as they take to the high road and motorhome their way through Scotland's Highlands and into its wildest places. From their once mutual home of Glasgow to the west and east coasts, the pair show each other their beloved Scotland as they encounter a fascinating cast of characters, take trips down memory lane and relive painful memories.
With Alan at the wheel and Miriam the constant backseat driver, this raucous campervan odyssey documents a charming friendship and is packed full of laughter, personal confession and wisdom. This joyous three-parter is Alan and Miriam's love letter to their homeland; as Miriam says, 'Scotland is my inheritance... we're both lucky to have it in our lives.'

In this episode, Miriam and Alan's adventure begins in Glasgow where they stop off at the street where Miriam's Jewish family laid down their roots in Scotland. As they continue their journey north into the Highlands, Alan reveals a special surprise for Miriam - their very own personalised 'Al-iam' tartan.
The pair delight in sharing each other's histories, from a rumoured dalliance in Alan's ancestral past at Cawdor Castle that could see him related to nobility, to a trip down memory lane for Miriam who takes them to meet actor Bill Paterson, of Outlander and Fleabag fame.
Their journey also takes them to Panmure Estate in Carnoustie, where Alan remembers a painful childhood with a physically abusive father, which brings Miriam to tears. After an emergency stop off at an 'Aire', Alan and Miriam meet Lady Liza Campbell, sister of the current Earl of Cawdor.
Miriam & Alan: Lost And Found In Scotland begins Tuesday 16th November at 9:15pm on Channel 4.
