BBC ANNOUNCES NEW DOCUMETARY ON THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF JAMAL EDWARDS

The BBC will be bringing a new feature documentary diving into the life and legacy of pioneering music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards.

Produced by Ventureland, in association with Jamal Edwards’s family and SBTV, the 90-minute documentary will follow his extraordinary rise to becoming one of the most influential figures in modern music and youth culture.

The documentary will include never before seen footage and interviews with family, friends and artists who were close to Edwards, sharing personal stories, reflecting on his impact in the industry and exploring how he transformed SBTV from a grassroots YouTube channel into a global platform which helped launch the careers of international artists including Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Dave and Jessie J.

Ventureland has begun production on the landmark documentary, set to broadcast in 2027 with more information to be announced.
