The new and returning comedy series coming to the BBC this Autumn have been revealed.

How Are You? It's Alan Partridge

New Series

We follow the beloved and, to be fair, revered broadcaster as he reintegrates into life in Britain after a year working in Saudi Arabia. But what begins as a documentary about homecoming soon morphs into something more personal as Alan realises that the happiness he thought he’d feel at being back in Norwich just hasn’t materialised. Something’s missing.

We follow Alan as he sets off on a quest to understand his funk and to share what he learns with the nation. And if he ends up being seen as a mental health champion for the middle-aged, who’s also a good fit to present other issues-led documentary strands, so be it.

Daddy Issues

Series 2

Set in Stockport the first series saw Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood) discover she’s pregnant after a random hook-up. With her sister Catherine (Sharon Rooney) in prison and her mum Davina travelling around the world to find herself, Gemma had no choice but to turn to her hapless father Malcolm (David Morrissey) for support.

The end of the series saw Gemma going into labour at Rita's (Sarah Hadland) salon, then giving birth to baby Sadie with friends Cherry (Taj Atwal) and Xander (Arian Nik) by her side. Meanwhile Malcolm rushed to make it to the hospital in time, with toxic friend Derek (David Fynn) in tow.

Mammoth

Series 2

In the first series, Tony Mammoth (Mike Bubbins), a PE teacher believed to have perished in an avalanche during a school trip in 1979, attempted to rebuild his life after miraculously returning from the dead when his body is discovered frozen in time.

In the seventies he was a carefree Cardiff bachelor, teaching PE and generally living la vida loca. In 2024, he thought the world would still be his oyster, but Mammoth never really liked oysters, he was more of a pint and a packet of crisps sort of bloke. All he wanted was his old life back; the same job, the same clothes, the same car and the same soundtrack.

Film Club

New Series

It’s Friday night. 7pm. Film Club Week 198. Evie hasn’t left the house in six months after a ‘wobble’, and tonight, things are different. Noa’s got big news. A dream job is taking him across the other side of the country, which means that all of this is ending. That reality is hitting. That they’re going to be forced to consider for the first time they might be more than just friends. Neither of them are the best when it comes to emotions but this time those emotions might be impossible to ignore...

Two Doors Down

Christmas Special

The residents of Latimer Crescent will congregate at Beth (Arabella Weir) and Eric’s (Alex Norton) house to celebrate Christmas. The neighbours are all back: Christine (Elaine C Smith), Cathy (Doon Mackichan) and Colin (Jonathan Watson), Alan (Graeme Stevely) and Michelle (Joy McAvoy), plus Beth and Eric’s son Ian (Jamie Quinn) and his fiancé Gordon (Kieran Hodgson).

Mrs Brown's Boys

Festive Specials

Loud-mouthed Irish matriarch Agnes Brown's favourite pastime is meddling in the lives of her six children. Sauciness and slapstick.

Transmission details will be announced in due course.
