A brand-new series of The Weakest Link returns to BBC One on Saturday 17 December with a fresh line-up of celebrity contestants stepping into the studio to battle it out for a chance to win up to £50,000 for charity.

The series marks the second outing as host for BAFTA award winning Romesh Ranganathan after a hugely successful series last year.

The upcoming series will feature appearances from celebrity contestants Scott Mills, David Haye, Naga Munchetty, Brian McFadden, Ruby Wax and Lawrence Chaney, with contestants competing across a range of themed episodes.

Kicking off with a Strictly themed episode, other themed episodes are set to include a Christmas special, New Year’s Eve, Daytime TV, Food and Drink and Sports.

Pete Ogden, BBC Studios Creative Director Entertainment North and Executive Producer of the show says: “It’s absolutely fantastic to be back for a second series with Romesh at the helm of this iconic quiz show. We have so much fun making the show and I hope audiences will once again relish seeing Romesh take down some of the nation’s favourite celebrities as they go head to head.”

Filmed at BBC Pacific Quay in Glasgow, The Weakest Link (12 x 45) is a BBC Studios Entertainment production.
