BBC TO 'REST' DIY SOS AFTER 27 YEARS AS NEW SPIN-OFF REVISITING PAST BUILDS IS ANNOUNCED
The BBC has announced it is 'resting' DIY SOS after 27 years on screens, and instead will be airing a spin-off series which revisits past builds.
DIY SOS sees presenter Nick Knowles joined by an army of volunteers, trades and local suppliers from across the UK to take on some of their most ambitious and challenging projects yet.
For 27 years and over 240 episodes, DIY SOS has rallied tens of thousands of volunteers. Together, they’ve delivered life-changing home and community transformations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
A BBC spokesperson told The Sun: "In light of savings challenges we have taken the decision to rest DIY SOS in 2027 and commission a new spin-off show instead from producers South Shore. DIY SOS Rebuilt My Life (w/t) will revisit successes from the show’s past and expand the brand on the BBC in a more cost-effective way next year."
DIY SOS is available now on BBC iPlayer.
