BBC hit comedy Daddy Issues, written by Danielle Ward and starring Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey, has begun filming in and around Stockport, with further cast including Sian Gibson and Neil Morrissey now confirmed.

Made by Fudge Park, Daddy Issues follows Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood) and her well-meaning but hopeless dad Malcolm (David Morrissey). After two series of unexpected parenthood, disastrous romances and family drama, the pair have discovered that growing up doesn't stop once you've had a child. Living together has brought them closer, but family life remains as unpredictable as ever.

Guest stars this series include Anthony Welsh (Bob Marley: One Love / The Flatshare) as Gemma's video game designer love interest Avery; Sian Gibson (Power of Parker / Car Share) as Rita's unhinged sister Juno; Neil Morrissey (Men Behaving Badly / Line of Duty) as Malcolm's new found friend, Ellis.

Plus Shobna Gulati (Hullraisers / Corrie) as the sultry new neighbour Odette; Liam Williams (Ladhood / Everyone Else Burns) as Rita's put-upon boyfriend, Sophie Winkleman (Sanditon / Wild Cherry) as campsite owner Mary and Seb Cardinal (Cardinal Burns / Sally 4 Ever) as the mysterious Silas.

Returning cast include Sarah Hadland as Rita, David Fynn as Derek, Taj Atwal as Cherry and Sharon Rooney as Catherine.

Eighteen months on, Gemma and Malcolm have settled into their own comfortable rhythm. Sadie is thriving at nursery, and Gemma has been promoted at the salon, but after two weeks away she returns to find Malcolm has lost his keys, the flat has sprung a leak and the police are at the door.

So much for having everything under control. It doesn't take long for 'old Gemma' to resurface either. A promising new romance leaves her caught in a tangled web of lies, and there's only one person she can turn to: Malcolm, who might finally have become the grown-up she always knew he could be.

As father and daughter face new relationships, unexpected surprises and even more outrageous misunderstandings, Daddy Issues continues to find big laughs in the messy realities of family, love and growing up.

Aimee Lou Wood says: “I'm so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest and sweetest comedy double acts on TV, and I've loved being a part of it."

David Morrissey says: “I love doing Daddy Issues so much, such a great cast and crew! So I’m delighted to be coming back to have more adventures with Gemma, Malcolm and the gang!”

Danielle Ward, Writer says: "I'm thrilled we're getting to make a third and final series of Daddy Issues. The Moscrips have a special part in my heart and I'll be forever grateful to Aimee and David for bringing them to life in such a brilliantly funny way."

Phil Gilbert, executive producer at Fudge Park says: "Danielle's series three scripts are total firecrackers - acerbic but sweet, surreal but always relatable, dark round the edges but radiating with joy from the centre. I can't wait for Aimee and David to bring their one-of-a-kind chemistry to these stories and welcome back our knockout supporting cast who help make Daddy Issues such a ridiculously fun world to spend time in."

Daddy Issues (6 x 30) is a Fudge Park production for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, created and written by Danielle Ward (Brassic).
