Channel 5 have commissioned new 4x60' social experiment series Trading Places which will see a different group of young people experience a completely different way of life.

Groups such as "image-obsessed shopaholics" will step back into time to a 1960s-inspired off-grid community which rejects consumerism. Another episode will see three party-goers live like monks.
Meanwhile, Rich House Poor House is returning to 5 in the form of Rich Wedding Poor Wedding. It’s the biggest day of your life, and also the most stressful… and it can tip you over the edge. But what would happen if you had to swap your special day with someone on the other side of the wealth divide? Does splashing the cash on your wedding day guarantee your happily ever after?
This programme is a joyful, chaotic, and eye-opening show that flips the script on the ultimate ‘big day’. Two couples from completely different financial worlds are thrown into the ultimate wedding experiment: they swap budgets - and with it, their expectations, dreams, and comfort zones.

On one side, you’ve got Col and Raz used to champagne tastes and five-star fantasies. On the other, Janet and Gary who’ve spent years scraping and saving, where even a modest wedding feels out of reach. Then comes the twist: the wealthy must plan a wedding on a shoestring, while the budget-conscious suddenly have money to burn.
From castles and couture dresses to charity shop bargains and DIY décor, emotions run high as each couple discovers that planning a wedding isn’t just about money - it’s about compromise, priorities, and what truly matters. Arguments flare, creativity is tested, and more than a few tears (and laughs) are shed along the way.
But as the big days arrive, one question hangs in the air: does spending more guarantee the perfect wedding… or is love the only thing that really counts? Heartfelt, hilarious, and full of surprises, this show proves that when it comes to tying the knot, the journey might be just as meaningful as the ‘I do’.
More details will be announced in due course.
