THE JURY: MURDER TRIAL RETURNS TO CHANNEL 4 FOR THIRD SERIES THIS SEPTEMBER, CASE REVEALED

Filmed over ten days, the series will take a forensic look at the inner workings of justice. The jurors will be asked to judge a real life case. Actors will recreate the trial in front of the jurors. What will the juries decide, and why?

Will they come to the same conclusion from the exact same evidence presented in the same way or will other factors play a part in their decision? How well will they follow the complexities of the law around loss of control? And after they have deliberated, will they even agree with each other’s verdicts?

The third series will focus on the real-life case of two brothers, one aged just 14, who are charged with the murder of their stepdad. The siblings admit to stabbing their stepdad whilst he was sleeping, but the jury - made up of twelve members of the public - will have to decide whether it was a calculated act of revenge or an act of desperation.

Meanwhile, TV Zone understands Channel 4 have commissioned a fourth series of The Jury: Murder Trial following its breakout success which last year saw the show win a BAFTA.

The Jury: Murder Trial returns this September on Channel 4.
