ITV have commissioned a second series of fast-paced high-stakes primetime quiz The Floor following a successful launch earlier this year. Production listings from production company South Shore and seen by TV Zone suggest the show will film this Summer.

In The Floor, 81 quiz fanatics face off in quiz duels on a giant LED floor divided into 81 equal squares, each representing its own field of knowledge. The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a huge cash prize.
The rules are simple - a random contestant challenges an adjoining opponent in a quiz duel and they play against each other in the category of the opponent’s square. The winner of a duel conquers their opponent’s square and gains more ground - the loser leaves the game.
The further the game progresses, the more exciting the duels become and the higher the stakes. Who will be the last person standing on The Floor and take home £50,000?
With Rob Brydon commanding The Floor, viewers are set for unmissable quizzing as he guides contestants and audiences through exciting play alongs and nail-biting competition.
TV Zone understands filming is due to take place this Summer, with Rob set to film the next series of Destination X - which TV Zone exclusively revealed earlier this year - for the BBC shortly after filming for The Floor has taken place.
The Floor continues Sundays at 7pm on ITV1.
