In the third results show of Strictly Come Dancing 2026, Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon left the competition following a dance off against Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu.

Both couples performed their Icons Week routines again. Dame Sarah and Julian performed their Tango to That Don’t Impress Me Much by Shania Twain, before Bethany and Nancy performed their Cha Cha to Respect by Aretha Franklin.

After both couples had danced, the judges delivered their verdicts:

  • Anton Du Beke chose to save Bethany and Nancy.

  • Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Bethany and Nancy.

  • Motsi Mabuse chose to save Bethany and Nancy.

With three votes in favour of Bethany and Nancy, it meant Dame Sarah and Julian would be leaving the competition. Head Judge Shirley Ballas – who this week was the judge with the deciding vote – said she would have saved Bethany and Nancy if she had been required to vote.

There’ll be immediate reaction from the Strictly dance floor in Strictly: Lights Up, hosted by Abi Clarke and Tyler West, available on BBC iPlayer from the moment the results show credits roll. Dame Sarah and Julian will then join Ellie Taylor on Strictly - It Takes Two on Monday at 6:30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

Sunday night’s results show also saw the Professional Dancers transform into different eras of Madonna in a showstopping routine paying tribute to the Queen of Pop. There was a very special tribute to Dolly Parton as singer Belles sang Dolly’s iconic Jolene, accompanied by a performance from Amy Dowden and Kai Widdrington.

The remaining couples will take to the dancefloor next week, when Strictly Come Dancing returns at later time of 6:30pm on Saturday 24 October.
