STRICTLY REVEAL PLANS FOR 2020 SERIES

Sarah James, Strictly's Executive Producer, reveals plans for the next series which is due to begin next month.

-All 14 group routines with the professional dancers have been pre-recorded after they all underwent a 14 day quarantine together.

-Celebrity and Professional dancer will form a 'close contact cohort' and/or 'exclusive support bubble', allowing them to dance together without social distancing.

-Specific hair and make-up stylists will be assigned to specific couples to minimise contact with others.

-Reduced number of crew in the studio, with the studio being deep-cleaned every evening.

-Judges (Craig, Motsi and Shirley) sat on separate desks.

-Bruno Tonioli will not be part of the live shows due to his commitments in the US. Instead, he will appear on the Sunday night results show and give his opinions on the week's dances.

-New tracking cameras and augmented reality cameras to be used for the first time to diversify the types of shots and to allow for less physical sets on the stage.

-In the upstairs studio - 'the Clauditorium' - Claudia will only be allowed to speak to one couple at a time. The other couples in the competition will be watching from a socially-distanced seating area opposite the judges' desk. (See Picture)

-Dave Arch returns with his band. However, due to not being able to fit every member of the band in the 'band pit', parts will be pre-recorded.

-In the launch show, the celebrities and professional dancers will be paired together in VTs rather than in person in the studio.

-There will be a guest act for each results show. For the launch show, Joel Corry and MNEK will be performing.

-No Blackpool or Halloween week, however there will be a "special celebration" of Blackpool during the series.

-No results show on Week One. The first results show will take place during Week Two as normal.

-Pro dancers Neil Jones, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima and Nancy Xu will not be partnered with celebrities due to fewer celebs competing in the series. Instead, they will form bubbles and dance along with the guest acts on the results show.

-Plans in place for distanced audience, full audience and no audience. More will be revealed closer to the series.

-If a celebrity or professional dancer tests positive for COVID-19, that will rule them out of the competition and they will be ordered to enter a 14-day self isolation in accordance with Government guidelines.
