Planet Sex With Cara Delevingne | Preview (BBC Three)
Cara Delevingne is one of the world’s most photographed people, and an award-winning LGBTQ+ icon.
On this immersive journey, she puts her mind and body on the line in search of answers, donating her orgasm to science in Germany, making art from her vagina in Japan, hitting up a women-only sex club, taking a masturbation masterclass, and visiting an 'ethical' porn set, all in the name of understanding our deepest desires.
In every episode she shares her personal experiences. Uniquely unfiltered and authentic, there’s no limit on how far Cara’s willing to go to explore what makes us all human.
The exploration into all things Planet Sex begins with Cara asking the big questions about female sexuality, looking into how women think, act and feel around sex. She wants to explore why there is still stigma and shame associated with women talking about sex and, importantly, to understand why men and women aren’t experiencing - and enjoying - sex equally.
Cara sets out to fix the so-called 'orgasm gap' by visiting a laboratory run by two sex researchers in Germany. The orgasm gap refers to the general disparity between heterosexual men and women in terms of sexual satisfaction. Uncovering the science behind orgasms, Cara partakes in a sex experiment, donating her orgasm to science.
Cara delves into the ergonomics of the clitoris. In celebration of this organ, she becomes ‘cliterate’ with a conceptual artist in New York.
To address the taboos around female sexuality that exist across the world, owners of a sexual wellness brand in Lebanon discuss how these taboos hold women back. In Japan, where there is strict government censorship about female genitalia, Cara meets a radical artist challenging this as they create ‘vagina art’ together.
In New York Cara dives into a female masturbation class and attends a women-only sex party in Los Angeles, as she reflects on how much is still left to learn about female sexuality to ensure that women are equal with men when it comes to sexual pleasure.
The series begins Thursday 1st December at 10pm on BBC Three.
