Brickies is a new six-part series following bricklayers who are building houses - and building lives.
The brickies are using the money to turn their lives around, from buying houses and flashy cars to supporting their families and developing their own career ambitions.
They have their work cut out however, as they put their skills to the test on sites in Stoke-on-Trent, Northampton and Derbyshire.
Bricklayers of all abilities feature in the series - from apprentices getting to grips with their new world, to experienced bosses whose job it is to keep their teams on track, with deadlines fast approaching.
Expect laughs, banter and tears as we see friendships and fallouts, relationship struggles and young parents in pressured situations. There’s also plenty of drama as the brickies deal with material shortages and staffing setbacks, as well as the odd prank.
In this episode, three groups of brickies are on a housing development in Stoke-on-Trent. The brickies are under pressure to get the job done but with a national shortage of materials, nothing is guaranteed.
Jeorgia, from Wales, hopes to realise her dream of buying a sporty new car, but is dealing with the stress of working away from her home and family for the first time in her life.
The site’s newest apprentice Tom T hopes to prove himself as he gets to grips with life in the real working world. And things take a turn for Tom C - the site’s labourer - when he unexpectedly finds himself out of a home and searching for somewhere to live.
Brickies begins Thursday 14th April at 9pm on BBC Three and iPlayer.
