I KISSED A GIRL ANNOUNCED FOR BBC THREE FOLLOWING SUCCESS OF DATING FORMAT

The UK’s first ever gay dating show is set to return for a second series on BBC Three, with the commission of I Kissed A Girl, where the path to love is never straight. It’s loud, it’s proud…and it all starts with a kiss.

Like the boys' series, Dannii Minogue is to play Cupid, and it’s the party you do not want to miss. 10 single girls are matched up, and meet for the first time… with a kiss. No small talk. No messages. Just one kiss to test out their chemistry straight away. Will it be a polite peck? Or a passionate snog? And ultimately, will that first kiss lead to love?

I Kissed A Girl will be packed with explosive drama, gripping cliffhangers and powerful untold stories - from coming out in a strict religious family, to the pressures of body image in the lesbian dating scene, to navigating self-acceptance, sex and first lesbian relationships.

Dannii Minogue said: "After showing love truly is for everyone with I Kissed A Boy, I am thrilled to have the chance to be Cupid again for girls in this second series. I’m so excited to see if we can find more connections, chemistry and hopefully love sealed with a kiss. Here come the girls!"

A source added to The Sun: "This must be the last spin on a dating show to come to fruition and many would argue it’s been long overdue. ITV already have a ‘Love Island’ for middle-aged people coming up and BBC Three are just wrapping up I Kissed A Boy, which had been a successful same-sex dating show for men."

Tonight (Monday 5th June) sees the final of I Kissed A Boy. The summer of love is coming to an end. But first, the couples face a difficult decision. Which relationship do they think is least likely to make it in the real world? Emotions run high as the couples reveal their answers, and the couple with the most votes is sent home.

I Kissed A Boy is available on BBC iPlayer now.
