The UK version of quiz format Jeopardy!, which was hosted by Stephen Fry, has bee axed by ITV after two series.

TV Zone understands there are no plans for the show to return for a third series. The decision comes nearly a year after the second series aired on ITV1 in the 3pm daytime slot, which other quizzes such as Lingo and Riddiculous also occupy.

The weekday entertainment show provided nostalgia for fans of the world-renowned format, while introducing the family quiz show to a UK audience. Guided by host Stephen Fry, contestants play to win, using their best general knowledge to win rounds and always delivering the answer as a question. They may continue to amass winnings, the longer they stay in the game.

Meanwhile, Stephen Fry has been the first name confirmed to appear on the upcoming second series of ITV's The Assembly, which returns for a bumper series this Spring. The first series earned widespread critical acclaim with guests Danny Dyer, David Tennant, Jade Thirlwall and Gary Lineker.

Now, The Assembly - a remarkable group of inquisitive interviewers who are autistic, neurodivergent and/or learning disabled - will return to put their unique questions to another batch of brave celebrities, where the rules will remain the same: no question is off the table and no topic is out of bounds.

Jeopardy! is available now on ITVX.
