HOMES UNDER THE HAMMER: OWAIN WYN EVANS REVEALED AS NEW PRESENTER ON BBC DAYTIME SERIES

BBC One daytime staple Homes Under The Hammer has signed a brand new presenter, whilst 'axing' another, according to reports from The Sun newspaper.

Owain Wyn Evans, known as 'the drumming BBC Weatherman' who went viral online, and now also host of BBC Radio 2's early Breakfast show, has joined the Homes Under The Hammer team for its next series.

The Sun reports that at the same time, the show has "axed" presenter Tommy Walsh, who had been past of the presenting line-up since 2021. The BBC declined to comment when approached by the publication.

A source told The Sun: "Bosses wanted a makeover to keep younger viewers interested. They have been keen to get Owain onto one of their popular shows for a while - he will add a new dynamic...

"The upcoming series will feature both Tommy and Owain as there is a three-month lag with the house makeovers, so there is some crossover."

In November 2023, Homes Under The Hammer celebrated 20 years on air with a run of special episodes, each with a different celebrity host. They included Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Alex Jones, Amanda Lovett from The Traitors and Toyah Wilcox.

Owain Wyn Evans was also a guest host at the time, commenting: "I love Homes Under the Hammer. I’ve watched this programme for years so I’m thrilled to be on the programme."

Homes Under The Hammer continues weekday mornings on BBC One, with previous episodes on BBC iPlayer.
