The BBC have reportedly commissioned a new daytime quiz, titled The Finish Line, from Potato (part of ITV Studios) - the makers of ITV's The Chase.

Each episode sees 5 players race against each other by answering general knowledge questions. The challenge is to stay in the race by answering questions as quickly as possible. The last one standing could be in with the chance of winning thousands of pounds.

A teaser for applicants shares: "Do you love general knowledge? And enjoy the thrill of a race? We are looking for fun and enthusiastic contestants who have a good level of general knowledge and a competitive edge."

Potato's Michael Kelpie said: "[The BBC] commissioned a daily quiz that we will do in the spring. We will be filming it here at Blackstaff Studios in Belfast, we will have a team, most of which are local, who have worked on quizzes before because there is a lot of experience and a base of skills here now. So we’re really excited about this new show, The Finish Line."

More details about The Finish Line, including host, will be announced in due course.
