DON'T FORGET THE DRIVER SERIES TWO CANCELLED DUE TO COVID

Set in the seaside town of Bognor Regis, Don’t Forget The Driver observes the beauty and ugliness of life in small-town Britain, following a group of people struggling with their sense of identity and place in the world.

Toby Jones starred as coach driver Peter Green, who lives a life of ordinary routine, troubled by his disaffected daughter Kayla (Erin Kellyman) and ailing mum Joy (Marcia Warren).

The trip of the day is Dunkirk, as Green and his co-driver Squeaky Dave (Danny Kirrane) prepare to take a group of pensioners to visit the war graves in France. But what should be an ordinary day is turned upside down when the docile town of Bognor is confronted with two unexpected arrivals.

Writer Toby Jones said: "We're so, so proud of it. But there's a certain sadness about that project, because we had the second series written, it was all there. And Covid ate it."

A BBC spokesperson told British Comedy Guide: "We'd like to thank Tim Crouch, Toby Jones, the incredible cast and crew and the entire team at Sister for bringing such a beautifully crafted, timely and poignant story to screen in Don't Forget The Driver. Sadly, this challenging year has claimed another casualty and the series will not be returning."
