Channel 4 announces the cast of Mog’s Bad Thing, Lupus Films’ hand-drawn animated adaptation of Judith Kerr’s classic picture book of the same name. The special will air on Channel 4 this Christmas.

Returning to the world of Mog are Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton) as the Narrator, Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) as Mr Thomas, Claire Foy (The Crown) as Mrs Thomas, Amelie Law (Mog’s Christmas) as Debbie and Teddy Skelton (Mog’s Christmas) as Nicky.

Joining the cast for this seasonal special are John Thomson (Break Clause) as Mr Bunce, Katherine Parkinson (Rivals) as Mrs Ramsbottom, Mawaan Rizwan (Juice) as Ali and Amelia Theodorou (Mog’s Bad Thing) as Amy.

In Mog’s Bad Thing, Mog is the Thomas family tabby cat who always finds herself in big trouble. The family are hosting a cat show in their garden which should be Mog’s chance to shine, but in all the excitement she does a “bad thing” which means she hides in the attic feeling sorry for herself and misses the start of the show. Can Mog find a way to leave her hiding place, make her family proud and save the day?

Mog’s Bad Thing is produced by Ruth Fielding and Camilla Deakin for Lupus Films (Kensuke’s Kingdom, The Snowman and The Snowdog), written by Joanna Harrison (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt) and directed by Robin Shaw (The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Mog’s Christmas). The special is a warm-hearted and hilarious adventure from Kerr’s Mog series of picture books about her lovable family cat, which have sold over 4 million copies worldwide.

The launch of the special follows the success of Channel 4’s BAFTA-nominated animation, Mog’s Christmas.
