Sky announces The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, an eight-part Sky Original series from Left Bank Pictures (The Crown, Dept Q), based on the globally bestselling novels written by Stieg Larsson.

This bold and contemporary reimagining brings The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo into the present, grounded in the characters and investigative DNA of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium novels, with themes that carry heightened relevance today.

The Millennium novels have sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is produced by Left Bank Pictures. Production will commence in Spring 2026 in Lithuania.

Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher, Behind Her Eyes, Spider-Noir) and Angela LaManna (The Haunting Of Bly Manor, Behind Her Eyes) will write and executive produce the series. Executive producers also include Andy Harries, Charlotte Moore and John Phillips for Left Bank Pictures and Sam Hoyle for Sky.

The series will be available on Sky in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

Meanwhile, Sky and HBO previously announced WAR, a bold new legal thriller from the creator of Lupin and Hijack, starring Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown) as tech titan Morgan Henderson and Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal, American Sniper) as his estranged wife, international film star Carla Duval.

Set in the elite world of London law, the series has been greenlit with a two-series commitment from Sky and HBO, following a deal brokered by Sky. It debuts with a scandalous divorce case that sends shockwaves through boardrooms, bedrooms, and courtrooms alike.

WAR follows two of London’s most prestigious rival firms – Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne – as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century. Each side is certain they’ll win. But as the case spirals and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone’s playing to win. This is just the beginning - season one’s explosive case is the first in an anthology of headline-making legal battles.

More details will be announced in due course.
