NETFLIX OPEN UP THE CIRCLE USA TO INTERNATIONAL CONTESTANTS

Netflix are reportedly casting for contestants from both the USA and UK for the upcoming series due to film in Salford later this year.

In The Circle, players live in separate flats in an apartment block and communicate with each other through a voice activated social media platform called The Circle.

The players can be whoever they want on their Circle profiles, as they are hidden behind the screen. Popularity is the name of the game. Across the series the players rate each other and the least popular are ‘blocked’.

A source told The Sun: "Using an international cast of contestants is an approach that’s already proved successful with similar shows, such as the steamy dating favourite Too Hot to Handle."

In May, Channel 4 revealed that they will not be commissioning a fourth series of the show. In a statement, they said; "We're incredibly proud to have worked with Studio Lambert North and Motion Content Group to invest in such an innovative show and to have given it a springboard for its international format success...

"In much the same way as when we originally commissioned The Circle, Channel 4 has a responsibility to continually look at how we reinvent and create space for new ideas, and so we have decided not to commission the show for a fourth season."

The Circle USA is available now on Netflix. The Circle USA Series 3 is expected to land this Autumn.
