Made by BBC Studios Entertainment, another star studded line up of celebrity contestants will battle it out in one of the world’s most iconic quizzes, working as a team to build a cash prize for charity whilst trying to avoid the walk of shame and being voted ‘The Weakest Link’ by their fellow contestants. Only one player will be crowned The Strongest Link and secure the prize for charity.

Three specials will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in October; a Radio 2 special sees Romesh challenge his fellow Radio 2 presenters to be crowned The Strongest Link of the network, followed by ‘Battle of the Nations’ where stars from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland play for national pride.

Then a Redemption special welcomes back celebrities who have been voted off first in previous episodes - seven of them will get further than they ever have before, but for one they will have to do the ultimate walk of shame. The new series continues from December onwards with a further 9 episodes including a Christmas edition and a New Years ‘party’ amongst others.

Famous faces appearing on the next series include: Chesney Hawkes; Ruth Davison; Fay Ripley; Charlie Marlowe; Jamie MacDonald; Sarah Greene; Minah Shannon; Johnny Vegas; Emmanuel Sonubi; Mhairi Black; Dermot O’Leary; Joe Baggs; Zeze Mills and Charlene White.

Plus Mark Heyes; Lauren Layfield; Anthony Agogo; Patsy Palmer; Ian Watkins; Charlotte Crosby; Keith Brymer ; Fatiha El-Ghorri; Merlin Griffiths; Luke Hamnett; Bash The Entertainer; Zoe Ball; Rylan Clark; Scott Mills; Tony Blackburn; Michael Ball; Jo Whiley; Trevor Nelson; Sian Welby; Steve Pemberton and Sally Boazman.

Also appearing will be Maryam Moshiri; Josh Widdicombe; Charlotte Hawkins; Nicola Adams; Sue Clever; Banjo Beale; Julie Lin; Curtis Davies; Blu Hydrangea; Lou Saunders; David O'Doherty; Gordon Smart; Amy MacDonald; Stephen Mangan; Josie d'Arby; Bronagh Waugh; Paul Brand; Leomie Anderson; Jamie-Lee O'Donnell; Patsy Kensit and Colson Smith.

Romesh says: “The Weakest Link is back and better than ever with three superb specials airing next month and more from Christmas. I’m not biased when I say it’s a brilliant show, and I’m looking forward to bringing more awkward pauses and tense goodbyes to Saturday nights on BBC One.”

The Weakest Link returns Saturday 4th October on BBC One.
