Rise & Fall | Episode 1 Preview (Channel 4)

Channel 4’s new reality series, Rise and Fall, begins tonight at 9pm. Presented by Greg James, Rise and Fall is a game about what it takes to get to the top - how to win power, how to keep hold of it and how to use it to influence others.

In tonight’s first episode, 16 ordinary British people, from all walks of life and ages, begin the game and compete to win up to £100,000. They include business-owner Ali, trainee nurse Cheryl, care home manager Connor, builder Jack, entrepreneur Jeff, interior designer Joanna, postal worker Prince, delivery driver Sydney, CEO Ramona and politics student Sophie.

When the 16 come together for the first time, host Greg James asks the group to decide who the six Rulers will be to step forward into the Rise and Fall lift and begin a life of luxury in the Penthouse. The 10 left behind will be Grafters and must survive in basic conditions in the Basement. Much like life, those in power in the Penthouse will be responsible for making decisions that affect those who have none in the Basement.

As deliberations begins as to who becomes a Ruler, who commands power and who has the skill and experience to lead, decisions are taken out of group’s hand when some Players make a dash for the lift to steal the Ruler positions, leaving those who are Grafters far from pleased…

With the Rulers and Grafters decided, the Grafters must get to work and complete their first gruelling Work Shift to add the first money to the prize fund. And it isn’t long before the Rulers are asked to vote for one of their own to fall, and leave the game…

Rise And Fall launches tonight at 9pm on Channel 4. Continues weeknights at 10pm.
