Return of the series in which two families from opposite ends of the income spectrum swap holidays. Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday is back with bigger surprises, bolder adventures and budgets that couldn’t be further apart.

Buckle up as strangers from opposite sides of the wealth divide travel together on two wildly different holidays. From clapped-out caravans to luxury five-star resorts, they’ll experience each other’s idea of the perfect getaway. Can the rich handle the budget breaks? Will the less wealthy find luxury stuffy? Welcome to Rich Holiday Poor Holiday, where one family’s holiday paradise is another’s holiday hell.
In this episode, super wealthy medics and aesthetics practitioners Sam and Andre Dissont and their 14-year-old daughter Cassia holiday with the fun-loving cash strapped Leaf family: Gary, Beth, 13-year-old Grace and eight-year-old Noah.
When it comes to holidays, the two families couldn’t be more different. The Dissonts like to holiday the healthy way: a session in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber before they fly, imbibe no alcohol, eat plenty of fresh food, and exercise during their trips, whereas the Leaf family love a big blow out! The Dissonts spend £40,000 on a single break while the Leafs have only ever been on one family trip abroad.
First, they travel together to a 5-star hotel in Malta, worthy of the Dissonts’ exceptionally high standards. It’s beyond the Leaf family’s dreams and well beyond their means, but is holidaying like their rich companions all it’s cracked up to be?
With an itinerary filled with private tours of the historical sites, sushi restaurants, a gym session and a snorkelling trip to the blue lagoon, does it fulfil the Leafs’ expectations and is it worth the cash? And will they survive Andre’s healthy holiday regime or crack at the first sign of temptation?
For the budget break, it’s time to holiday like the Leafs. As they all rock up to their self-catering pods in rural Lancashire, it’s a come down for the well turned out Dissonts who liken it to a geography field trip! But can the Leafs show them there’s fun to be had in simple pleasures: toasting marshmallows over a campfire, volunteering with the local alpacas and paddleboarding on a cold and windy lake?
Will they get on despite their differences? And what will the experience teach them about money, happiness and how the other half live?
Rich Holiday Poor Holiday returns Sunday 27th July on 5.
