The Madame Blanc Mysteries | Series 7 Preview (5)
The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns as Jean and Dom prepare to tie the knot – but nothing can prepare them for the unexpected obstacles standing in their way.

Across the series, a body is discovered in one of the show’s most iconic locations, Uncle Patrick hosts the pub quiz of the century at La Couronne, and Judith and Jeremy face a heart-wrenching dilemma. As the bodies continue to pile up, one question remains: will Jean and Dom finally make it down the aisle?
Packed with more mind-boggling mysteries, murderous twists and eye-popping antiquities than ever before, The Madame Blanc Mysteries Series 5 will keep you on the edge of your sun-drenched seat
All treasured regulars are returning; Sally Lindsay stars as Jean White, Steve Edge as Dom Hayes, co-writer Sue Vincent stars as glorious Gloria Beaushaw, Robin Askwith and Sue Holderness return as the delectable Jeremy and Judith.
Plus Lloyd James along with Alex Gaumond as Chief of Police André Caron. Also returning once again are Tony Robinson as Dom’s Uncle Patrick, Paul Chuckle (Elliott) as Gloria’s dad Trevor, and Stephen Bailey, back to cause trouble as gangster John Marsden.
With Jean and Dom’s Christmas Eve wedding drawing closer, life in Sainte Victoire is already busy before the village is shaken by the murder of Mayor Stephanie Arquette, whose body is discovered in the historic fountain. The killing comes at a particularly sensitive moment: controversial redevelopment plans are about to change the square, and tensions around the work have divided local opinion.
Jean is soon drawn into Caron’s investigation. The Mayor’s financial dealings, her relationships and the redevelopment itself all offer possible motives, while builder Eddie Day quickly comes under scrutiny. But Jean is troubled by details that suggest the crime may be rooted in something much older than a dispute over money or planning permission.
The fountain’s history begins to matter just as much as Stephanie’s final hours, and Jean’s instinct tells her that whoever killed the Mayor may also be trying to protect a secret buried in Sainte Victoire’s past.
As Jean and Caron investigate, family life becomes increasingly complicated for Dom. He is worried about his heavily pregnant daughter Claudie, whose relationship with boyfriend Marco has become a growing source of concern. Dom’s protective instincts are heightened by the sense that Claudie is not telling him everything, while Jean tries to support him without intruding.
The case combines village politics, old loyalties and Jean’s fascination with the stories that objects and places can hold. At the same time, the approaching wedding brings Jean and Dom ever closer to a new chapter in their lives as their long-awaited future together rapidly becomes a reality.

Sally Lindsay and the team continue to deliver the perfect blend of suspense, sunshine and sentiment. Wedding bells are on the horizon, but will it be murder getting Jean and Dom down the aisle…?”
Don Klees, Senior Vice President, Programming, Acorn TV adds: “The Madame Blanc Mysteries is a perennial favourite on Acorn TV that delivers on all levels. We know our viewers will be just as thrilled as we are to make a return trip to St Victoire.”
Andy Morgan, Executive Producer, Clapperboard shared: “The Madame Blanc Mysteries is the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks to Sally and all of our brilliant team, series five promises to bring more excitement and even more guest stars than ever. Our hats are at the ready, as Jean and Dom plan their much-anticipated wedding, but we’ll have to wait and see if they make it down the aisle, as things are never straightforward in St Victoire.”
