Springwatch

Monday-Thursday, BBC Two

As Springwatch embarks on their 20th year, it’s set to be a sensational celebration, with two new locations, a new cast of wildlife characters and nests that have never been featured before.



Jane Austen: Rise Of A Genius

Monday, BBC Two

The three-part series explores how the author of masterpieces including Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Emma ripped up the rulebook and reinvented the novel, allowing her readers into the minds of characters as never before.


But getting into Austen’s own mind isn’t easy. During her lifetime, she wrote thousands of letters to her sister Cassandra. After Jane’s death, Cassandra burnt almost all of them. Now, this major new series draws on the surviving letters, alongside the insights of experts, contemporary novelists, and actors who have portrayed Austen’s characters, to bring Austen back to life.


Bake Off: The Professionals

Tuesday, Channel 4

Hosted by Liam Charles and Ellie Taylore, the toughest Bake Off on television welcomes six teams from top hotels, restaurants and small businesses who will battle it out for their place in the competition. Once again, judges Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin set a pair of exceedingly tricky challenges, the first of which requires exacting precision and creativity.



Dept Q

Thursday, Netflix

Netflix tease: "Dept. Q is an adaptation of the novels of the same name by Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen. The series revolves around Carl Morck, a former top-rated detective in Edinburgh assigned to a new cold case whilst wracked with guilt following an attack that left his partner paralyzed and another police officer dead."


The Power Of Parker

Friday, BBC One

It’s 1992, the Queen is in the midst of her annus horribilis, John Major is the new PM, and Whitney’s I Will Always Love You is stuck at number one. Up in Stockport, Kath (Sian Gibson), Martin (Conleth Hill) and Diane (Rosie Cavaliero) are just trying their best to get along.


Martin Parker has hit rock bottom and is desperate to get his reputation back, Diane is adjusting to single life and running a business, while Kath is getting her happily ever after with her man by her side and is working on rekindling a relationship with her sister. She’s on a mission to sort things out for her sister and her man, but her interfering does the opposite and jeopardises everything. They will need to depend on each other now more than ever, but who do they trust?
