ONE QUESTION WITH CLAUDIA WINKLEMAN SET TO BE SHELVED BY CHANNEL 4 AFTER TWO SERIES

Channel 4 are reportedly set to shelve One Question after two series, with The Sun newspaper reporting Claudia Winkleman will not return to host the primetime gameshow.

One Question is a seemingly simple yet deceptively difficult general knowledge quiz in which pairs of contestants must answer just one question correctly. But that one question comes with 20 possible answers and only one is correct. All the players must do to win £100k, is choose which is the correct answer. Eliminate the incorrect answers and they’ll be on the path to victory, but if they eliminate the one correct answer it’s game over.

The reports comes after Winkleman, along with co-host Tess Daly, announced they would both step down as hosts of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing at the end of the current series. Tess and Claudia will leave Strictly Come Dancing at the end of the current series and their last appearance together on screen will be on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special which will air on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman said: “We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time. We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last “keep dancing” but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza.”

Meanwhile, three years after a pilot, the BBC are closing in on a deal for Claudia Winkleman to host her own BBC chatshow, according to reports.

The series will be produced by Graham Norton's SO Television, who produced the pilot in 2022. It follows Claudia's guest stint covering for The Graham Norton Show earlier this year. It also follows the news this week that Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly are to step down as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing.
