The BBC has announced it has acquired series two of I, Jack Wright, the six-part murder mystery written by Chris Lang (Unforgotten, Innocent, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe).

BBC has also acquired series one which will air later this year on BBC iPlayer and BBC One. BritBox currently has series one in North America and will also carry series two. This announcement comes as production begins on the second series.
Produced by Federation Stories (A Tale of Two Cities) for UKTV and YLE and acquired by BBC and BritBox, the first series has an all-star cast led by Nikki Amuka-Bird (Betrayal), John Simm (Grace), Trevor Eve (A Discovery of Witches) Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones).
Plus Ruby Ashbourne Serkis (Shardlake), Daniel Rigby (Landscapers), Gemma Jones (The Bridget Jones films), Zoë Tapper (Grace), Niamh Cusack (Big Mood), Rakhee Thakrar (Sex Education), Percelle Ascott (I Came By), James Fleet (Bridgerton) and Lena Kaur (Happy Valley).
The second series sees the return of Nikki Amuka-Bird as Sally Wright, John Simm as Gray Wright, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis as Emily Wright, and Daniel Rigby as John Wright. Harry Lloyd returns as DCI Morgan, with new cast members, Tom Austen (Rematch) and Zora Bishop (Hijack) joining for the second series.
The Wrights are back – and deadlier than ever. Still reeling from the death of patriarch Jack, the family are blindsided by the arrest of one of their own for his murder. But have the police got the right person? And more importantly, how could this affect their inheritance payouts?
Add in one new family member, two new wills, and three new bodies, and prepare for an explosive return to the twisted world of the Wright family. Thrilling drama starring Nikki Amuka-Bird and John Simm.
Series two is directed by Jon East (The Last Kingdom, Trigger Point, Killing Eve) and produced by Kingsley Hoskins (Trigger Point, The Flatshare, The Road Trip). The Executive Producers for series two are Polly Williams for Federation Stories, Chris Lang, and Nickie Sault.
