I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE: INTERVIEW WITH ALISON HAMMOND

I Can See Your Voice will see two players aiming to win a cash prize by guessing who can and can’t sing from a group of mystery singers standing before them. But there’s a catch… can they predict who has the voice of an angel or who will leave them covering their ears in horror all without ever hearing them sing a note?

With £10,000 on the line, the players will attempt to weed out the bad singers, based on a series of clues, interrogation, and lip sync performances. In the end, the last mystery singer standing will reveal if they are a good or a bad singer in a duet with a weekly Guest Music Star resulting in either a magical musical moment or a comedy collaboration!

I Can See Your Voice begins Saturday 10th April at 7:20pm on BBC One.

PRESS INTERVIEW WITH ALISON HAMMOND

Can you give us a brief overview of the show?

I Can See Your Voice is just one of the best shows I’ve ever seen in my entire life, not just because I am on it, but it is actually a really good show. You’ve got good singers, you’ve got bad singers, it’s up to me, Amanda and Jimmy as the investigators to decipher who are the good singers.

Have you got a favourite round?

My favourite round in I Can See Your Voice is the lip sync, that’s the round where you can truly see when someone is a good singer or not. Obviously, I am the best lip syncer, so I have the knowledge to know who is lying and who is telling the truth.

If you were to take part in the show as a singer what would your tactics be?

If I was a bad singer, which I’m obviously not. I would learn my songs to the absolute T, I would get it down so I look professional, I’d pop out some of the moves so that they thought I was a real singer. But I tell you this now, if I was a bad singer, I would be winning that £10,000!

Do you think Amanda has an advantage of spotting the good singers because of her background?

Amanda Holden does have a slight advantage over me and Jimmy, she has obviously done lots of judging, she’s done loads of talent shows, so she can spot who is a good singer. But to be honest with you, having seen her work, she’s not as good as me!

Has Jimmy been behaving himself?

Jimmy never behaves himself, but don’t worry, I whip him into shape.

What is your go to karaoke song?

My go to karaoke song is Mustang Sally. I am Karaoke Queen honesty, I will literally hog the whole floor all night long! I have been to karaoke sessions where everyone is like ‘When am I going to get a go?’ because it’s always me! I am a little bit jealous of the people actually lip syncing because I want to do it!
