EMBASSY: PRIME VIDEO ANNOUNCES NEW ACTION THRILLER STARRING ANNA KENDRICK

Prime Video has acquired AGC Television’s Embassy which is now shooting in Cologne, Germany and London, England. The six-part series is set to launch on Prime Video in the UK, Ireland, Canada, France, Australia and New Zealand next year.

The action thriller stars Anna Kendrick (Woman of the Hour, A Simple Favor), Sam Heughan (Outlander, The Couple Next Door), and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, The Westies). Embassy will be distributed worldwide by AGC International and was licensed by the UK TV Acquisition team for Prime Video.

Embassy, produced by Ascendent Fox and Turbine Studios, has also secured additional cast including Aleksandar Jovanovic (The Gold, Souls), Lydia Leonard (Gentleman Jack, Wolf Hall), Mitya Savelau (3 Body Problem, The Crown), Hasan Akil (Memory Box, A Sad and Beautiful World), James Murray (Masters of the Air, The Crown), Katie McGrath (The Ex-Wife, Supergirl), Luke Treadaway (Unbroken, The Serial Killer’s Wife), Stephen Odubola (Boiling Point, Blue Story), Alexander Karim (Gladiator 2, Swarm) and Natalie Mendoza (Jack Ryan, Ánnette).

When armed mercenaries storm the U.S. Embassy in London, Layla (Kendrick), a sharp and resourceful American diplomat, faces an impossible choice: protect the U.S. Ambassador (Simmons) or follow his orders to exfiltrate a high value asset being held at the embassy. As a larger conspiracy unfolds, Layla must rely on her instincts – and the reluctant help of her ex-fiancé, a British SAS soldier (Heughan) – in the tense hours before extraction.

Embassy is created and written by Rom Lotan, directed by John Strickland (Bodyguard, The Rig) and Christian Alvart (Case 39, Pandorum) for AGC Television, the television production and distribution arm of Stuart Ford’s powerhouse independent content studio AGC Studios, Ascendant Fox and Turbine Studios. The series is executive produced by Lotan, Strickland, Ascendant Fox’s Hester Ruoff, Bart Ruspoli and Matt Mitchell, Turbine’s Daniel Hetzer, Jakob Neuhausser, Justin Thomson and David Tanner, and AGC’s Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz and Miguel A.
