The first episode of BBC’s latest adventure reality competition series, Destination X, has been watched by over 6.7M viewers to date, averaging over 1M for under 35s.

That makes it the biggest new unscripted launch across the market so far this year and the BBC’s biggest new Factual Entertainment launch since current data began in 2022.
Overall, the series so far has reached nearly 16M viewers, demonstrating how the series continues to bring audiences together for unmissable content on the BBC and solidifying its position as one of the most successful Factual Entertainment highlights of the year.
BBC Commissioning Editor, Michael Jochnowitz said “It’s fantastic to see Destination X become the talk of the summer and now boasting the biggest launch across the entire unscripted market this year. We couldn’t be happier for Rob Brydon, our brilliant cast, and the whole production team at Twofour.”
Viewers at home were able to play along and put their skills to the test, with the Destination X online game, where they could earn clues and make predictions by putting their X on the map along with the cast. A current total of 366k users have so far registered for the game, making it the most successful game of its kind.
Played out over an incredible journey through Europe, a journey where things are not what they seem, Rob Brydon is the games master who takes carefully selected players on board the X-bus and asks them one simple question - where the X are they?
With blacked-out windows, all they have to do is try to deduce where in the world they are, because at the end of every episode, they must place an X on a map. The closest stay on the bus - the furthest away is eliminated from the competition. In the end, one walks away with a cash prize of £100,000.
Each episode sees Rob take the adventurers on another incredible leg of the journey - a fantastical trek that turns Europe into a board game, with twists and turns around every corner. Epic challenges offer clues to those smart enough to figure them out, but players - and viewers - beware, there are also some red herrings scattered around.
