Written by Danielle Ward, BBC comedy Daddy Issues will be back for a third and final series on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three. Made by Fudge Park, the series, starring Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey, was BBC Three’s biggest comedy launch since the start of 2022, and series two was the channel’s top scripted title for 2025.

Daddy Issues, filmed and set in Stockport, Greater Manchester, follows Gemma (Aimee Lou Wood) coming to terms with life as a mum, with support from her hapless father Malcolm (David Morrissey). Luckily, she can also rely on best friend Cherry (Taj Atwal), boss Rita (Sarah Hadland) and sister Catherine (Sharon Rooney), all whilst trying to keep Malcolm’s best friend Derek (David Fynn) at arm’s length.
The new series sees Gemma 18 months on from where we left her in series two, and life has settled into a familiar rhythm. Her baby, Sadie, is now in nursery, Gemma's been promoted at the salon and Malcolm has just ordered a fancy new washing machine to optimise the laundry.
Things might finally be on an even keel for the Moscrips - so maybe there's space for Gemma to finally find love? However, it doesn't take long for chaotic 'old Gemma' to rear her head; a romantic encounter escalates into a whole heap of problems, and there's only one person she can turn to - her dad, who might finally have become the grown-up she always knew he could be.
Aimee Lou Wood says: “I'm so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest and sweetest comedy double acts on TV, and I've loved being a part of it."
David Morrissey says: “I love doing Daddy Issues so much, such a great cast and crew! So I’m delighted to be coming back to have more adventures with Gemma, Malcolm and the gang!”
Danielle Ward, Writer says: "I'm thrilled we're getting to make a third and final series of Daddy Issues. The Moscrips have a special part in my heart and I'll be forever grateful to Aimee and David for bringing them to life in such a brilliantly funny way."
Jon Petrie, Director of BBC Comedy says “As Daddy Issues becomes a threenager, it’s been great seeing audiences take Gemma and Malcolm to their hearts. Danielle has created a brilliantly sharp, fearless comedy and we can’t wait to see the Moscrips take the next, slightly wobbly steps in life with a toddler.”
Phil Gilbert, executive producer at Fudge Park says: "Danielle's series three scripts are total firecrackers - acerbic but sweet, surreal but always relatable, dark round the edges but radiating with joy from the centre. I can't wait for Aimee and David to bring their one-of-a-kind chemistry to these stories and welcome back our knockout supporting cast who help make Daddy Issues such a ridiculously fun world to spend time in."
Daddy Issues (6 x 30) is a Fudge Park production for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, created and written by Danielle Ward.
