THE BIG BREAKFAST SET TO BE SHELVED BY CHANNEL 4 FOLLOWING REBOOT

EXCLUSIVE

The Big Breakfast is understood not to be returning for another series this Summer, following last year's rebooted series. Channel 4 declined to comment when approached by TV Zone.

Produced by ITV Studios label Lifted Entertainment, The Big Breakfast was first rebooted in September 2021 as part of Channel 4's Black To Front project, which aimed to improve Black representation on and off screen and drive long-term change in the industry.

After the success of the one-off, Channel 4 commissioned a four-part series which aired last Summer, also hosted by Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu. The series saw contributions from Melvin Odoom, Judi Love, Gemma Collins, Big Zuu and the return of Phil Gayle as the show's resident newsreader.

The reboot saw some fresh new features alongside some nostalgic Big Breakfast classics including Family of the Week, Super Hints, One Lump or Two and Don’t Phone, It’s Just For Fun plus more famous names and surprise guests popping by for games, music and chat.

Previous episodes of The Big Breakfast are available to stream on Channel 4.
