BBC 'PREPARED TO AXE STRICTLY' IF UK GOES INTO NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

Reports: The BBC are prepared to cancel the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing if the UK goes into a full lockdown due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

A source told The Sun: "The BBC are fully prepared to axe this series of Strictly if a full lockdown happens.

"They couldn't even delay the show until early next year because of a number of issues, including them begin unable to use their usual studios. While everyone is hopeful it won't happen, preparations have been made if it does.

"Everyone working on the show has done their utmost to keep it on air and if a local lockdown happens in London, where the studios are, Strictly bosses will ask for a special dispensation to see if they can continue."

Last week, Strictly contestant HRVY revealed he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was self isolating - more information here.

Also last week, Strictly's Executive Producer revealed plans for the 2020 series - more information here.
