APOCALYPSE WOW SET TO BE SHELVED BY ITV2 AFTER TWO SERIES

The hilarious ITV physical gameshow will reportedly not return for a third series on ITV2.

Apocalypse Wow - which is described as "The Chase meets Gladiators via Mad Max and Burning Man" - aired on ITV2 in Summer of 2021 and 2022. The first series was hosted by AJ Odudu before Arielle Free took over hosting duties for the second.

Though ITV have not ruled out future series, TV Zone understands there are no plans for another series this year. The series sees five famous faces will enter the 'Torture Dome', a secret underground club, part BDSM dungeon part super club, part Fight Club.

They take on the terrifying Superhuman bosses. Among them, Master Enormo (one of the world’s strongest men), The Nimble Ninja (a back-flipping parkour master) and The Mermaid (a mermaid).

Alone the celebrities would be demolished, but if they can unite, stop bickering amongst themselves and become the perfect team… they might win the day and take home a load of cash for charity.

Each week one celebrity was eliminated, with a new famous face entering the Torture Dome every episode.
