How well do you know tracks from Sinatra to Sedaka, Britney to Beyonce, Oasis to Olivia Dean and Doja Kat to Duran Duran? Could you name the tune of a well-known song after hearing just a few short notes? ITV announces a brand new series that challenges members of the public to do just that, in Name That Tune coming to ITV1 and ITVX.

Hosted by Alison Hammond, each week contestants will be pitted against each other as their music knowledge is put to the test in a series of fast-paced rounds, featuring tracks from the world’s best loved artists and bands from across every genre - all building towards a nail-biting finale.

Every round is designed to challenge our music enthusiasts, asking just one simple question… Name That Tune. With a studio audience singing along and viewers at home invited to play from their living rooms, it's the ultimate soundtrack for all generations.

Based on the successful U.S. format and joining Alison is the iconic Name That Tune band, a group of elite musicians who have performed with some of the world’s biggest stars including Adele and The Spice Girls. The band will be swapping the U.S. stage for the UK, covering a plethora of music genres, in their inimitable style, live in front of a studio audience.

Can our competitors correctly decipher iconic riffs, melodies and lyrics from some of the biggest songs on the planet simply by hearing extracts from these well-known tracks? Or will they miss the beat and hit a sour note?  Currently in its fifth season in the U.S., Name That Tune outperformed its previous fall delivery on FOX.

Host Alison Hammond said:  "As a massive music lover, my biggest challenge as a host will be trying not to grab the mic and start singing along when one of my all-time favourite tunes comes on! And trust me… that will take serious self control! I grew up absolutely loving the original show so being part of this now feels like a real full-circle moment.

I cannot wait to get into the studio, put the contestants through their paces, and see who really knows their music. And let me tell you, being joined by the super-talented Name That Tune band, who’ll be belting out some of the biggest songs on the planet in their own unique, electric style… oh, it’s going to be next-level. Bigger, louder, and more feel-good than ever this is going to be EPIC!”
