What Not To Eat with Professor Tim Spector & Dr Kandi Ejiofor has been recommissioned by Channel4.  In January this year What Not To Eat launched with 1.7 million viewers to episode one, the most-watched new series in the 8pm slot since Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker in 2021.

Over four new episodes Professor Spector and Dr Kandi Ejiofor will again be helping the UK navigate the baffling world of ultra-processed foods (UPFs), thought to directly contribute to the UK’s rising obesity rates.

Professor Spector will share nutritious alternatives to junk food, and take us back to basics, showing us what to shop, cook and eat in a bid to transform the nation’s health.

Professor Tim Spector said, “Dr Kandi and I can’t wait to help more people understand their diets better, reduce the impact of ultra-processed foods, and find out how to make simple swaps when they shop, that will ultimately improve their health.”

Creative Director of Plum, Gill Wilson said, “We’re delighted to build on Tim and Kandi’s mission as they attempt to transform the nation’s health. As well as helping more families learn what NOT to eat, we’re excited to bring their expertise to the supermarket, to find out what we should be eating instead.”

Clemency Green said,” The response to What Not To Eat has been phenomenal. There is a huge appetite from audiences for Tim and Kandi’s clear, practical advice, and we’re thrilled to be building on that success with a second series and an exciting new supermarket spin-off.”

The second commission is a new four-part What Not To Eat spin off, What Not To Eat, Supermarket Swaps’. This series is also being made from the new Brighton base.

Commissioning editor for both projects will be Senior Commissioning Editor, Clemency Green with Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions, Jo Street.   Series Producers will be Colette Hooper and George Harris. Exec Producers will be Rosie Bray and Gill Wilson.
