THE UK TONIGHT: SARAH-JANE MEE TO HOST NEW SKY NEWS PRIMETIME SHOW

Sarah-Jane Mee, who until this month hosted The Sarah-Jane Mee Show on Sky News weekdays 2-5pm, is to launch a new primetime programme on Sky News next month.

The UK Tonight will offer a 'deep dive into the issues that matter most to viewers'. It will be an hour of powerful interviews, original journalism, debate, plus insight and analysis from Sky News correspondents around the country.

Sky News recently announced an overhaul of its schedule. In daytime, Ian King and Business Live was split into two half-hour shows from 11:30am and 4:30pm. Wilfred Frost joined as one of three presenters of Sky News Today from 10am. Sky News Today with Jayne Secker from 12pm and Kamali Melbourne from 2pm.

At 7pm, Sky News launched the Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge, where the host is joined by a panel of expert guests who will analyse and debate stories, offering a range of views and perspectives on how the political events of the day have unfolded.

As a result, Ridge stepped away from her Sunday morning show. Award-winning broadcaster Trevor Phillips will host this flagship weekly programme that aims to set the political agenda, delve deep into the big stories, and hear from news-making guests.

Coming soon to 9pm, Yalda Hakim is joining Sky News as the organisation’s Lead World News Presenter. Hakim will present a new primetime programme as part of a multiplatform offering focused on international news.

An award-winning foreign correspondent, Yalda is currently a chief presenter for the BBC News channel where she hosts her flagship programme The Daily Global with Yalda Hakim.

Sky News is available on Sky channel 501.
