ROMAN KEMP TO FRONT SECOND BBC MENTAL HEALTH DOCUMENTARY
Roman Kemp is reportedly making a second documentary for the BBC on the issue of mental health, following his first documentary which aired on BBC Three last year.
Roman Kemp: Our School Emergency (w/t) will see the star explore mental health amongst young people and in schools. The documentary is currently in production and is expected to air in early 2023.
A source told The Sun: "Roman identifies this as a very important area to explore within the wider issue of depression. As part of that he will be looking at the impact of mental health on young Âpeople — including schoolchildren — who are affected...
"It is believed that the issues in question often start in the very early years and that’s the point at which it is best to start assessing them."
In August 2020, Roman Kemp’s life changed dramatically with the sudden and unexpected death of his best friend, radio producer Joe Lyons. Roman's first documentary, Our Silent Emergency, Roman took a closer look at the urgent issue of young men’s mental health, exploring why increasing numbers are taking their own lives and the reasons why so many of them never ask for help.
Wanting to find some answers in the difficult time, Roman explored what can be done to encourage people to seek help, what preventative action we need to be taking, and the lasting impact that mental health and suicide can have on friends and families.
More details about the new documentary will be revealed in due course. The first documentary, Our Silent Emergency, is available on BBC iPlayer.
