RATINGS REPORT: 06-12 MAY 2024

The latest +7 day consolidated ratings for programmes shown or released have been released by BARB. The top-50 breakdown can be found on BARB's website here.


Unsurprisingly, the week was won by the annual Eurovision Song Contest on BBC One, which consolidated to 7,897,000. Britain's Got Talent's move to Sunday night to avoid Eurovision was watched by 5,498,000.



Doctor Who returned to BBC One on Saturday night for the first full series since 2021 with new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa and companion Millie Gibson. Episode 1 was watched by 4,008,000 followed by 3,909,000 for Episode 2. These figures include those who watched on iPlayer before the show aired on BBC One.


Race Across The World continued with 5,090,000 on Wednesday night. MasterChef continued on BBC One with 2,773,000 on Monday night. The BAFTA TV Awards were watched by 2,687,000 on Sunday night.



The second half of Clarkson's Farm dropped on Prime Video, peaking with 4,081,800 for Episode 5. Episode 8 was watched by 3,035,000. ITV stripped a week of Beat The Chasers Celebrity Specials, which were watched by 2,375,000, 2,438,000, 2,380,000 and 2,340,000 respectively.


In drama, Red Eye continued strong with 6,395,000 on Sunday night. Blue Lights continued on Monday with 4,192,000 and The Responder on Sunday night with 2,626,000.



In soaps, Coronation Street topped the week on Friday night with 4,262,000, Emmerdale with 3,974,000 and EastEnders hit a high on Tuesday night with 3,799,000. A figure for Inside No.9 on BBC Two is not available at time of writing.
