Winter On The Farm | Preview (Channel 5)

Helen Skelton and Jules Hudson return to Cannon Hall farm in South Yorkshire as the UK prepares for Winter on the Farm.

As the nights draw in, Helen, Jules and a host of special guests bring us the best stories from the farm, and beyond - from festive reindeers to Highland Bulls, and goat kids to bats.

In four episodes across four evenings, they’re joined by host farmers, brothers Rob and Dave Nicholson, and their animals, including Ted the Highland Cow and Boomerang the sheepdog.

Popstar turned farmer JB Gill visits the largest conservation centre in the UK for water voles, and meets the volunteers hoping to return ‘Ratty’ and his friends back to the wild.

Other guests include Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen and Yorkshire Vet stars Julian Norton and Rohin Aojula, and farm chef Tim Bilton, who cooks up some winter warmers.

Away from the farm, Rob and Dave take a trip to snowy Switzerland to visit an ex-pat farmer and meet her flock of sheep, as well as the pack of ten Guardian dogs who protect her flock from the wolves. They also try their hand at Swiss cheese making.

Plus, Helen Skelton visits one of her favourite places, Buttermere in the Lake District, and Jules Hudson takes a mental health walk through the Forest of Dean, and reflects on the past year.

Winter On The Farm begins 12th December on Channel 5.
