Spiral Of Lies | Walter Presents Preview (Channel 4)

To coincide with the launch of the full series on streaming from Friday 23 June, the first episode transmits on Channel 4.

Walter Presents - which showcases the best foreign language drama series from around the world - presents this enthralling French crime thriller. Audrey Barreyre, a happily married lawyer, is the only woman to ever get away from a violent criminal nicknamed the Itsas Killer, who was on the rampage 16 years earlier and remains undetected.

She is forced back into her memories of the past by a new crime: the murder of a 17-year-old girl on the Basque coast. Audrey sets out to help the bereaved family as only she has linked the murder to the series of crimes committed before.

After the night when she crossed paths with the killer, she lied and then doubled down on the lies to the police and everyone else to cover up a mistake. Now she must face up to her past behaviour, but in doing so, will she put her own life at risk?
