The Royal Borough: Kensington & Chelsea | Preview (Channel 5)

In the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea we explore hundreds of years of fascinating history whilst also delving into the lives of the Royals and the super rich who inhabit the wealthiest district in Britian.

Steeped in history, the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is where luxury living is the norm and Royals are always popping down from the palace. We discover how monarchs and aristocrats shaped the borough, and delve into the neighbourhood’s glamorous past.

From homes worth over £20 million to the most exclusive of private members clubs, from gardens fit for the King to patisserie to impress a Princess, this four-part series is an invitation to Britain’s wealthiest and most exclusive borough.

In this glossy, regal series we take a table at Princess Diana’s favourite restaurants, have hair styled by Kate Middleton’s most-trusted stylist, learn the secrets of royal birthday parties and go behind palace doors to visit a Queen’s bedroom at Kensington Palace.

In this episode, we’re house hunting on Knightsbridge - one of Britain’s priciest streets - and joining Princess Michael of Kent judging at the annual Chelsea Bun Competition, heading into the Royal Borough’s most famous home, Kensington Palace, and meeting the King’s Bargemaster, whose job is to carry the monarch on water, and their crown jewels on land.

The Royal Borough: Kensington & Chelsea begins Thursday 24th August at 9pm on Channel 5.
