The BBC has confirmed it has no plans for a seventh series of rap competition The Rap Game UK. The news comes day after the broadcaster also confirmed the end of BBC Three dating series I Kissed A Boy/Girl after its upcoming run.

A BBC spokesperson said (via Broadcast): "We are proud of the six series we have aired of The Rap Game UK and we would like to thank everyone involved at Naked for bringing the series to screen. In light of funding challenges there are no plans for a new series."

The Rap Game UK saw Krept, Konan and DJ Target launch the latest search for UK’s next rap star. The rappers competed in a series of challenges aimed at testing their musical, lyrical and performance abilities. All of this culminated in a £20,000 cash prize and mentorship scheme to help the winning artist create, and launch, their own music after the contest ends.

On I Kissed A Boy/Girl, a BBC spokesperson told The Sun: "We are exceptionally proud of I Kissed A Boy/Girl, the UK’s first dating show for the LGBTQ+ community. We would like to thank our fabulous cupid Dannii Minogue and the entire team at Twofour for bringing the series to screen. Unfortunately, we have to make difficult choices in light of our funding challenges and there are no current plans for the show to return."

Returning to host I Kissed A Girl this year, and to make sure the girls make connections and find their match is pop icon and LGBTQ+ ally Dannii Minogue. I Kissed a Girl is the first UK dating series for queer girls with the I Kissed brand paving the way for LGBTQ+ representation on mainstream television.

Back for another 10 part series, 10 single girls are matched up, and meet for the first time...with a kiss. No chat. No messages. Just one kiss to test their chemistry straight away. Will their kiss be sweet and pure? Passionate and wild? And ultimately, will that first kiss lead to love? Dannii Minogue will throw open the doors to a beautiful location perfect for the ultimate summer of love.

Before they arrive, the girls are matched up based on what they're looking for in a partner. After meeting their match for the first time with a kiss, they're encouraged to give their new relationship a good shot. However, the girls must ultimately do what's right for them, because everyone is a possibility in this love game.

Also back is the brilliantly witty, and hilariously funny Charley Marlowe who will narrate the highs, the lows and all the steam in between.

The Rap Game UK is available now on BBC iPlayer.
