Chivalry | Preview (Channel 4)
Steve Coogan and Sarah Solemani team up to write and star in a brand-new, timely drama. Coogan plays Cameron, a successful film producer and 'ladies' man', with Solemani as Bobby, a passionate indie-darling filmmaker.
Joining Coogan and Solemani are an ensemble cast including Emmy Award-winning Wanda Sykes as astute studio executive Jean Shrill, Sienna Miller as Cameron's leading lady Lark, Lolly Adefope as Ama, Cameron's latest assistant, Aisling Bea as intimacy co-ordinator Tatiana, and Adjani Salmon as Bobby's devoted and patient husband, Aston.
Chivalry offers a fresh new look on gender politics and romance, and asks the question: can one build and sustain a successful, relevant career in Hollywood without sacrificing principles?
Chivalry explores the truths and the myths behind these characters, their judgements of each other and their assumptions of themselves, seeking to break down and explore classic stereotypes. Chivalry grants the audience permission to laugh while asking complex questions that, as a society, we often find hard to discuss.
In the opening episode, Jean (Sykes) arranges for Bobby (Solemani), an indie-darling director, to take over the reshoots of a major studio film. Bobby meets Cameron (Coogan) and they have to convince a key player to come on board. Meanwhile, Bobby learns information about Cameron that makes her doubt her decision to work with him.
The full series will be available to stream or download for free on All 4 from midnight on Thursday 21 April.
