Craftsman and restorer Jay Blades and interior design expert Laura Jackson travel the UK's coastline in search of that quintessential seaside staple, the great British beach hut.

More than 20,000 beach huts grace our promenades, dunes, clifftops and sands and their variety is staggering, from the quirky and the ingenious to half-a-million-pound hideaways.

In some of Britain's most beautiful locations, Jay and Laura compete to find the best beach huts, visiting small seaside spaces that are as individual as their owners. Along the way, they take in traditional beach huts with a twist, luxurious tiny retreats and cutting-edge 21st-century designs.
